What is Consignment?
Consignment is an agreement to sell your merchandise in our store, while you still maintain ownership of them. “Consignment” simply means “we sell it on your behalf”. Our consignors receive 50% of the selling price. Decor on Douglas only accepts the best quality furniture with styles that appeal to a variety of customers.
How do I consign my items?
You may call or email to schedule an appointment with Decor on Douglas to bring your items and we accept or deny them in the store. For larger furniture pieces, we do require pictures before they can be brought to the store. To send pictures, please send to: info@decorondouglas.com
Do you provide pick-up or drop-off services?
We do not offer any kind of moving services at this time, but we do have local mover recommendations we would be happy to give you. Contact us today for more information!
What if I change my mind and want my item back before the end of my 120 day consignment period?
We do allow early retrieval of items but they may be subject to an early termination fee. We strongly recommend that consignors keep their item for the full 120 days, but they may remove an item before the end of the consignment period. All consignors must sign a form stating that the item was picked up so we can update our records.
How do I know if my item has sold?
When your consignment account is created, you will be given access to your own online account through our My Resale Web login portal. You can monitor this online account 24/7 to check your account balance and open items. Decor on Douglas will not call or email you when your items sell, but you are welcome to contact the store directly to see if your furniture has sold.

What happens if my items don’t sell?
Our primary goal is to sell your items within the 120 day consignment period. We ask that you mark your calendar with the end date of your consignment period and actively monitor your account. Due to the volume of inventory in our store, we do not contact you when your items are due to expire.
If your items are not sold at the end of 120 days and you would like to reclaim them, we ask you to call in advance to do so. If you wish to retrieve any unsold furniture, you must do so within 7 days of the expiration date of your consignment period. In the event that these items are not picked up, they will be donated to a local charity or become property of Decor on Douglas.

• Items with missing or broken hardware
• Items in need of repair, cleaning, refinishing or re-upholstery
• Furniture with water stains or noticeable scratches on the primary surfaces

Consignment Policies
- Furniture consignments are accepted Monday through Friday until 5:30 pm and Saturdays until 12:00 pm
- Please email pictures of large items (furniture) for pre-approval
- Items will be priced according to the pre-owned value.
- Condition must be excellent and ready to put out on the floor.
- Items must be assembled and smoke, dust, cobweb, pet-hair, odor, rip, tear, and scratch free.
- You MUST provide your own help for the loading and unloading of your items

How Our Consignment Works:
- Decor on Douglas partners with our consignors on a 50/50 split on all items.
- We offer a generous 120 day Consignment Term!
- Items will remain full price the first 30 days then reduced by 10% the second month, 15% the third month, then 20% the last month to keep inventory moving.
- Please note that your item will be 45% off the initial price by the fourth month.
- Decor on Douglas will not notify consignors when their item(s) sell.
- Account status may be checked on the online consignor account
- Most consignments sell, but if yours doesn’t after the 120 days then you can pick it up within 7 days or it will go into donation status.
- Consignors will be mailed checks for items that sell over $30 on the 10th of every month. Amounts under $30 can be used as store credit or rollover to the next month until they reach the $30 cap.
**Decor on Douglas assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to items by fire, theft, accident, or any other cause. Consignors are responsible for maintaining insurance on their property at all times.**
